Howard Eugene Downing

Howard Eugene “Gene” Downing, 82, died Sunday in Atlanta. Originally from Lake City, Florida, he had been a resident of Dunwoody for 45 years.
Before retirement he had been employed with IBM for 37 years.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Heard Downing; a daughter, Suzanne Downing, a son, Blair Downing, both of metropolitan Atlanta.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. James United Methodist Church, 4400 Peachtree-Dunwoody Rd., Atlanta. A reception will follow in the church parlor. Memorial gifts may be made to St. James UMC, marked for Medshare.
