HAROLD SIMMONS (Age 96)

Harold (Psaighe) Simmons passed away on June 5, 2017. Born on July 25, 1920 in Revere, Massachusetts, Psaighe enlisted in the Army-Air Corps at the beginning of WWII at the age of 18 and served as a pilot in Italy and North Africa in his P-38 fighter, the Sweet Lorraine. He was married for 62 years to his beloved wife Marcella, and is survived by his children Lizbeth (Tony), Rona (Harry), Alette (Day), and Lee (Debbie), 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a niece (Lorraine). Psaighe was an avid reader, stickler for the Queen’s English and the use of proper grammar, a golfer, wood-turner, jazz fan, cyclist until well into his 80s, and a devoted follower of the Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots, and the Bruins forever. The family will gather for a private memorial on July 17 in Roswell, Georgia.
