Georgia Leslie Robeson, 94, of Tucker, GA passed away December 17, 2025. Georgia was born in Kingsport, TN where she attended Sullivan High School. She received her Bachelor of Science in English from East Tennessee State College in 1956. Georgia worked for the DeKalb County School District as a high school English teacher and most recently as a teacher's assistant at Laurel Ridge Elementary School. She also worked for 20 years as a proofreader at Decatur DeKalb News Publishing.

Georgia enjoyed reading and attending book club; playing bridge; participating in community outreach activities with her fellow members at Trinity United Methodist Church in Atlanta; spending time with family and friends; and following the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs.

Georgia is survived by her daughter Leslie Robeson (Dan); son Leland Robeson (Roberta); sisters Frances Ramsey of Dickson, TN and Berdia Ham of New Castle, DE; godchild Joanna Harbin; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Loyd Robeson; parents John and Nealie Leslie of Kingsport, TN; and half-brothers Charlie Suthers, Willie Suthers, and O.M. Suthers.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of The Retreat at Decatur (formerly Benton House of Decatur) who cared for and loved her these past six years. Thank you to the Symponia Hospice staff and volunteers for your care and comfort during the past two months. We appreciate the support everyone gave us during this time.

Georgia departed this life to dwell in God’s kingdom. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. Think not in terms of sadness, for she has gone home to a place where there is no suffering or sadness.
