George W. Bill Peters, age 76, of Atlanta, GA died Sunday, September 5, 2010. Known as “The Bear,” he played high school football in Decatur, GA and Kirkwood, MO. After serving as president of Sigma Alpha Epsilon at Washington University in St. Louis, Bill joined his father “Pete” Peters as manufacturers’ agents for the food service equipment industry, and Bill’s brother Jim Peters soon followed into the family business. Over the years, Bill became a highly respected sales representative and national industry leader, and Peters & Peters remains in operation under third generation management after more than 50 years. Bill was a member of the Atlanta Athletic Club and a longtime Atlanta Falcons fan. He leaves behind his wife, Ann; daughters, Meredith Peters and Jennifer Peters, both of Atlanta, and Alison Andrews Ron of Athens, GA; and granddaughter, Caitlin Andrews of Athens as well as his sister, Jean Brody Gene of Winchester, KY; his brother, Jim Peters Vicki of Jensen Beach, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
