George David Kelley

George David Kelley, 55 of Milton, GA passed away on Wednesday, November 30 2011 at Emory University Hospital with family and a lifetime friend at his side following a gallant battle with COPD. David was born in Birmingham, AL on April 12, 1956 to George and Mary Poole Kelley. He worked with Parisian in Birmingham before relocating to Atlanta in 1984, where he continued his devoted and passionate service with Parisian as the store expanded into the Atlanta market. He ultimately retired from Belk in 2010 after 16 years of service with Belk and over 20 years with Parisian. David was a loving son and brother who had a generous heart and dearly cherished his family and friends. He enjoyed life to the fullest and was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying weekend trips to the beach or the north Georgia mountains with his five Italian Greyhounds. He is preceded in death by his father, George Kelley, a sister, Betty Howard and a brother, Billy Kelley. He is survived by his mother, Mary Poole Kelley; sisters, Susan Isbell, Cathy Laswell and Angie Thomas and brothers Mike Kelley, Joe Kelley, Fred Kelley, Steve Kelley, and Edward Kelley and fourteen nephews and eight nieces, along with countless other friends and family members who were blessed to have known him. A memorial service will be held on at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Sharing The Word Church, at 4600 Winchester Way, Irondale, Al. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in the name of G.
