George Allen Childress

GEORGE A. CHILDRESS, SR. age 90 passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015. He was preceded in death by his daughter Barrie Willett. He is survived by his brother Jerry Childress of Avon Park, Fl., his wife Evelyn Childress, sons Blake Childress Denise of Alpharetta, GA, George Childress, Jr. Beth of Marietta, GA, and daughter Cassandra Amato Don of Philadelphia, Pa. He is also blessed with 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was a civil engineer and managed the Atlanta office of Havens and Emerson until his retirement in 1990. He was a veteran of World War 2, serving in both the European front and the Pacific front. His family will have a celebration of his life for family and friends at a later date in January.
