Gail Wimer Sessions

Gail “Gigi” Hollingsworth Wimer Sessions, 77, passed away peacefully at her home on December 30, 2018. Born in Greenville, SC on Feb. 23, 1941, Gigi was the daughter of the late Clara Fay Couch and Joe Brown Hollingsworth of Greenville, SC.

Widow of the late Richard Allen Sessions, Sr. she is survived by her daughters Myra Howard of Richmond, VA and Margo Howard McMillan of Buford, GA, as well as her son-in-law John McMillian. She leaves behind grandchildren Peyton Hollingsworth Bowen of Chicago, IL, Mary Lawrence Bowen of Richmond, VA, Margaret Ann McMillan of Buford, GA, and Connor Glenn McMillan of Buford, GA. Gigi is also survived by her sister Myra Hollingsworth Quinn, her brother-in-law Ron Quinn, and niece Michelle Quinn Lupton, all of Lexington, SC. Gigi had many friends who loved and supported her.

A 1959 graduate of Carolina High School, GigI went on to attend Limestone College and Furman University. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Art in 1963.

Gigi began her professional career as an art teacher, first at Columbus State University and later at Bauder College, eventually becoming the executive director of Bauder College. A true trailblazer, Gigi left the education industry in 1983 to become one of the first women commercial real estate brokers in Atlanta.

Gigi was a devoted friend, fashion expert, lover of Italy, epic entertainer, tireless reader, and follower of Anderson Cooper. Her creative and lively personality will be missed by many.

A memorial service with reception to follow will be held Saturday January 19 at 1:00 pm at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit located at 724 Pilgrim Mill Rd. Cumming, GA 30040. A reception will follow.
