Florence Stancliff Weekley

January 19, 1931 — October 27, 2025

Stone Mountain, GA

Florence Stancliff Weekley was born January 19, 1931, in Atlanta, GA and grew up in the Kirkwood area of the city. She was the seventh-born of eight to William A. Stancliff and Mary Peacock Stancliff. Florence was a graduate of Murphy High School and worked in downtown Atlanta as a secretary. On April 9, 1955, she married Robert Johnson "Johnny" Weekley of Ulmer, SC. Florence and Johnny raised four children: Timothy Johnson Weekley, Mary Katherine Weekley, Robert Martin "Bobby" Weekley, and Glen Matthew Weekley. The family called the East Lake/Decatur and Stone Mountain areas home over the years. Florence was very active with the children's Cub Scout and Girl Scout troops. She also sold World Book Encyclopedia to help with the family's finances.

Florence was beloved both inside and outside of her immediate family. She was known as a kind, generous, and loving mother who gave of herself freely throughout her life. Florence was also someone who believed in staying in contact with family and friends throughout her life and deeply treasured these relationships. She will be sorely missed by many.

Florence Weekley passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and by her son Bobby. Her remains will be interred along with those of her husband Johnny at Georgia Veterans Cemetery, Canton, GA on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 10:00.
