Florence Bowles Carter

Florence Bowles Carter, 74, of Atlanta died Sunday, February 12, 2012. She was born in Macon, Georgia and raised in Waynesville, North Carolina. A graduate of Emory University, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert L. Carter. Florence was active in her church, the Cathedral of St. Philip in Atlanta, where she served on the wedding and altar guilds for over twenty years and twice chaired the wedding guild. Florence also volunteered in the Cathedral bookstore. Florence is survived by her son, Kenan Loomis Lisa, daughter Laura Sherman George and son Graham Loomis Kathy, as well as five grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the Cathedral of St. Philip at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 17, 2012.
