August 21, 1947 — February 29, 2024

David R. Eubanks – Born in Macon, GA on August 21, 1947, son of Charles Ralph Eubanks and Dorothy Slappey Eubanks, died February 29, 2024.

David was predeceased by brothers Donald and John Eubanks. He is survived by sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews, cousins, a large contingent of Slappey family members, and by very solid long-term friends.

He attended Lanier High School in Macon, followed by Florida Southern College in Lakeland. He served in the US Army’s Finance Corps on Okinawa. He obtained an MBA from Georgia State University and profession-related certifications. A long term resident of Atlanta, he worked at EEOC followed by a full career at MARTA. Post-retirement he served in various HR contract assignments, always interspersed with travel.

An avid Lake Rabun enthusiast he loved sharing Lake-time with family and friends. He enjoyed mountains, farm, coast, road trips, and later in life happily walking long distance trails across foreign lands. He was a strong believer in the Mark Twain quote that “Travel is Fatal to Prejudice, Bigotry, and Narrow-mindedness”.

Cremation by Cremation Society of Georgia. Final arrangements private per specific request. Any donations are suggested to be in terms of time and kindness, spent helping those less fortunate.
