Celia “Celi” Maria Bezanilla, 87, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2026, in Atlanta, Georgia. Born on July 19, 1938, in Key West, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Esther Bezanilla. Celi grew up in the tight-knit island community of Key West, where she graduated from Mary Immaculate High School, the Class of 1956. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her siblings, Esther Stipp, Gloria Vaine, and Joe “Gonzi” Bezanilla.
A woman of remarkable energy and a positive personality, Celi was well-known in Key West for the numerous restaurants and local businesses she owned and operated. After moving to Atlanta thirty years ago, she brought her work ethic and humor to a new chapter of life, eventually retiring from Lexis Nexis. She was widely recognized for her kind and generous soul, always ready with a joke or a smile. Her family fondly remembers her signature phrase, "Hot stuff, coming through!", a playful announcement that captured her funny and vibrant approach to life.
Celi was a devoted and loving mother who centered her life around her family. She is survived by her son, Ramon Rodriguez, and his husband, Jeff Perri. Her legacy of kindness also lives on through her five nieces, three nephews, and multiple great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom she cherished deeply. Her spirit, characterized by an unwavering positivity and a genuine love for others, will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no funeral services held at this time. Celi’s family remains grateful for the love and support shown during this time as they celebrate the life of a truly generous and funny woman.
