Cathreen O. Hopkins

Cathreen O. Hopkins, 89, of Atlanta, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014. Cathreen was born on July 21, 1924 in Nashville, TN to Horace and Laura Osment Meyers. She is survived by her husband Walter, also of Atlanta. She also leaves behind two children,
William B. Carlen III Linda and daughter Catherine Johnson Roger, two grandchildren, William B. Carlen IV and Carlen Johnson and one sister Faye Carpenter of Nashville. Cathreen graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Master’s Degree in fine art. During the 70’s she moved to Atlanta to pursue her career as an artist and open “Cathreen’s Gallery”. The gallery on Peachtree Road was owned and operated by her for 30 years. A graveside service is scheduled for Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Cathreen’s honor to the Atlanta Humane Society.
