Alfred Curtis Cornelius, Iii

June 30, 1939 — February 4, 2019

Alfred (Al) Curtis Cornelius, III 79, of Milledgeville, Georgia passed away on February 4, 2019. Al was born in Birmingham, Alabama and raised in Macon, Georgia and was the son of Alfred Curtis Cornelius II and Elsie Cornelius. He attended Lanier High School and continued his education and graduated from Southern Tech College with a degree in Industrial Engineer. AL was proud to serve his country in the United States Army.
Al spent thirty eight years working in the garment industry. He managed and open many manufacturing plants during this time. He kept in touch with many of his industry colleagues, especially during a yearly golf outing to Hickory Knob State Park in South Carolina. Al enjoyed and spent many years volunteering with Karios Prison Ministry of Georgia where he led many men to Jesus Christ. Everyone who knew Al will remember his pleasant smile and his love of family and friends. He was a wonderful listener and mentor to many. He was also an active member of Milledgeville First United Methodist Church and enjoyed the fellowship of many bible studies throughout the years. Al was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan, he enjoyed playing golf, and family vacations at the Gulf of Mexico.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, his high school sweetheart, Tracy Hollomon Cornelius and his children, Kim Boyce (John), Tracy Brown (Mark) and Curtis Cornelius. Grandchildren, Caroline and Jack Boyce. His brother, Randy Cornelius (Beverly), sister in law, Sally Bryan (Oliver), and multiple nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Van Cornelius.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, February 16th 2019 at 1:00 PM at Milledgeville First United Methodist Church, 366 Log Cabin Rd, Milledgeville GA 31061 Prior to the service the family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at the church. Donations can be made to the Kairos Prison Ministry of Georgia or a charity of your choice.
