Winston Ware Yancey

Winston Ware Yancey, 86, died July 31, 2015 at Habersham Medical Center. Son of Karl and Carrie Yancey, Winston leaves three nephews–Marshall Yancey, Philip Yancey, John Yancey–and a niece, Elonie Yancey Cseszko of Australia, along with his sisters-in-law Mildred Yancey and Ernestine Yancey, and many close friends in the Morningside neighborhood of Atlanta.

Winston graduated from Boys High, achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, and attended the University of Georgia before serving in the Army occupation force in Japan after World War II. For many years he worked as an insurance agent, and was active in the Atlanta Radio Club.

Memorial contributions are being accepted by the Center for Visually Impaired and Open Hand Atlanta.
