William John Cody

William “Bill” John Cody, beloved husband and father, passed away on September 9, 2016 surrounded by his family.

Bill was born to Marguerite nee Lynch and Patrick Cody on March 1, 1950, and raised in Chicago, IL with his three siblings. He attended college at the University of Notre Dame where he made important life-long friendships and cemented his deep devotion to Notre Dame football. After college, Bill earned his PhD in psychology from the University of Wisconsin at Madison where he met his wife of 35 years, Barbara Strock. Bill’s professional life included working at McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis, as well as Search Technology and Georgia MLS in Atlanta. Bill was passionate about music, woodworking, hockey, and Notre Dame football, but most important to him was his family. Bill is survived by his wife Barbara Strock; children Ellen Staton Patrick and Hannah Cody; his brother Patrick Donna; sister Donna Daly and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 10am on September 16, 2016 at All Saints Episcopal Church in Atlanta to celebrate a life well-lived and a man deeply loved. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in memory of Bill to the UW Psychology Department at University of Wisconsin Foundation, US Bank Lockbox, PO BOX 78807, Milwaukee WI 53278-0807.
