Ted Alan Hall
Ted Alan Hall passed away on December 20, 2023 at the age of 69 in Lilburn, Georgia. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile.
As a young boy, Ted began his love affair with cars and Nascar racing under the tutelage of his dad, who worked for General Motors in Doraville, Georgia. Every Sunday you could bet on Ted and his dad and two brothers listening to or watching that day’s featured Nascar race. On most Saturdays Ted could be found working on a friend’s car, inserting 8-track cassette players/radios or working under the hood to correct a problem. Everyone came to Ted for assistance and advice on car issues, a common thread throughout his life up until his passing.
Ted graduated from Southwest DeKalb High School in 1972. He met the love of his life, Donna, in 1974 through her sister-in-law, Melanie, Ted’s friend with whom he shared some college classes. Ted and Donna married in 1977, and together they had two children: Shelby and Travis.
During his active working years, Ted worked for three major employers, with multiple years at each: Georgia Power, C&S Bank (currently Bank of America), and YearOne, a dealer in classic muscle car parts.
Ted was a member of One Mission Church, formerly known as Lilburn Alliance Church, for 40 years and active in many church events and activities for much of that time. He was instrumental in leading the Oil Change Ministry for singles and senior saints for 25 years and oversaw the maintenance of the Church’s vehicles. He worked together with other church members to serve coffee and doughnuts at the church’s Sunday morning café bar for members and visitors.
Ted was preceded in death by his twin brother, Tod Hall, in infancy; his father, James Lindsey Hall, Sr.; his mother, Lorene Hall Adams; and his stepfather, Albert B. Adams. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Donna Lingerfelt Hall; son Travis A. Hall; daughter Shelby Hall Parks (Wes); brothers James L. Hall, Jr. (Nelle) and Jeffrey H. Hall; grandsons Austin Timothy, Isaac James, Nolan Wesley and Aiden William. He is also survived by a number of much-loved nieces and nephews, in-laws, aunts and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at noon on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at One Mission Church, 5915 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker GA 30084. A reception/luncheon will immediately follow at the church.
Due to severe floral allergies, the family requests no flowers. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Ted’s name to the mission fund of One Mission Church or to a charity of your choice.
