Robert MacBee Slaughter, Jr.

Robert MacBee Slaughter, Jr., 48, of Atlanta passed away peacefully at home on February 18, 2018 surrounded by those who loved him.
Robert is survived by his wife Alicia Green Slaughter, his mother, Peggy S. Hunt and husband William H. Sanders of Salinas, Ecuador; his father, Robert M. Slaughter, Sr. and wife Harriet of Duluth, Georgia; and, stepfather Grady M. Hunt and wife Pearl of Denver, Colorado. Robert was blessed to have five step brothers, one step sister and a large, loving extended family.
Robert grew up in Duluth, Georgia and graduated from Duluth High School. He later attended the University of North Georgia. Robert was a wine connoisseur and spent most of his career in wine sales becoming a Certified Sommelier. He moved to Denver, Colorado in his early 20’s, and continued his passions for rock climbing, trout fishing and mountain biking. When he was 25 years old, Robert climbed El Capitan in Yosemite National Park, the Holy Grail of rock climbing. Robert lived in Denver for twenty years where he met his lovely wife and best friend, Alicia. He and Alicia moved back to Atlanta four years ago.
The family has chosen Western Rivers Conservancy for donations as Robert was an avid fly fisherman. The web site for contributions is westernrivers.org in memory of Robert Slaughter, Jr. Per Robert’s request there will be no memorial service, only a celebration of his life which will be held on March 10 at 5pm at Stone Summit Atlanta.
