July 7, 1944 ~ July 31, 2012

Resided in: Atlanta, GA

To know Pat Howells was to know her heart. She loved so many and so much and was
so loved. Pat loved her family and her faith, St. Maryʼs and Pace, her
book club and her
Castle Crew, smushed-face dogs and Notre Dame football. She could
always be found
passionately discussing movies and books, organizing family
gatherings, or playing
bocce with bubbly on the beach at Hilton Head.

Our beloved Patricia Ann Harvey Howells, 68, of Atlanta passed away
Tuesday, July 31,
2012 at Grady Hospital after a fall. Mourned deeply by her mother,
Betty Walsh Harvey
of Vero Beach, FL and sister Linda Pedersen of Jensen Beach FL, she
was preceded in
death by her father Thaddeus Harrison Harvey, her father in law Frank
Morgan Howells
and mother in law Dorothy Bryce Howells. She is survived by her adored
and adoring
family, her pride and joy: her husband John and their children, Beth
and her husband
David Thompson of Savannah, GA, and their girls Elsie and Kit; Barbara and her
husband Mike Boukater of Marietta, GA, and their children Bryce and Brooke; and
Johnny and his wife Kate of Marietta, GA, and their boys Tad and Jack.
Having touched
the hearts of so many family and friends, she will be missed
profoundly. A memorial
mass will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Holy
Spirit Catholic
Church with a reception to follow in McDonough Hall. The family has
asked that in lieu
of flowers, memorial donations be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Church
of Atlanta, GA;
St. Maryʼs College in Notre Dame, IN; or the Pace Academy Upper School Capital
Campaign.

  1. Warren & Lauri Wood says:

We were so saddened to hear of Pat’s passing, totally shocked. Always looked forward to seeing and talking with her; we had such a great conversation the last time she was in the shop and Warren did her hair. All of you are in our prayers and we will carry Pat in our hearts forever.
