Louisa Claire Peacock of Decatur GA died at age 64 on 2/7/2019 while in hospice following a recent illness. Claire was born in Washington DC on 5/19/1954 to William Luther Peacock and Louisa Davis Peacock. She is survived by her mother Louisa Peacock, brother William Davis Peacock (Denise), grandchildren Riley Cain and Xander Cain, nephews Reid Peacock (Catherine) and Gabe Peacock, a great niece and a great nephew, several cousins, and former husband Jim Cain (Lynn). Claire was a devoted mother to her son, Christian Davis Cain, who predeceased her in death on 11/30/2018. Claire, a graduate of Georgia State University, worked as a medical technologist at Quest Diagnostics until retirement. She was a talented seamstress, cook, contra dancer, African drummer, formerly performing with Conundrums, and avid visitor with her family to the National Parks of the US. Claire’s family wishes to express appreciation to her many friends, including Greg Harris and Lorenzo Harris, and hospice staff for their support and care of her during this time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Decatur GA, on 2/15/2019 at 1:00, officiated by the Reverend Mary Lou Gilbert and followed by family visitation.
