Esther May Pierce Kobelak, 93, formerly of Sandusky died on February 13, 2012 at Laurel Creek Manor, Cumming, Georgia.

She was born May 5, 1918, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late William and Rozalia Kobelak. A graduate of Lincoln High School in Cleveland, Ohio, Esther worked for IBM before marrying Norbert Charles Pierce on November 18, 1939.

Esther and Norbert were owners of Robert’s Jewelers in downtown Sandusky from 1965 until 1985.

She was a very active member of Grace Episcopal Church, where she served as President of the Grace Episcopal Church Woman’s group for nineteen years. Esther was an active lay reader for Thursday and Sunday services and a dedicated worker at the church’s thrift shop.

She is survived by her children and their spouses: her daughter, Renee Pierce Conrad and husband Bruce Finch of Strongsville, Ohio, and her son and his wife Chuck and Sandi Pierce of Hoschton, Georgia; two grandchildren and their spouses: Amy Pierce Sola and husband Peter and Mark Pierce and his wife Natalie both from Atlanta, Georgia; and two great grandchildren: Miller Davis Pierce and Merritt Marie Pierce.

Esther and Norbert celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 18, 1989. She was preceded in death by her husband Norbert, one grandson, Ethan Scott Conrad, her parents, and 10 brothers and sisters.

Entombment will be in the Grace Episcopal Church Chapel columbarium.

The family thanks all of Mom’s friends who were so loving and supportive throughout her final years.

    I want to offer my condolences for the loss of your mother. I worked for her and your dad at the jewelry store for a couple years just before the store closed. They closed the store early one Saturday so they could attend my wedding! I saw her a few years back while she was living at Parkvue. We had a nice visit. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
