I am very sorry to learn of the passing of my friend. Several recent emails have been returned or unanswered so this development led me to online search. Lynn (Elynn) was a highly respected in developing educational programs for the insurance industry. On a personal level My wife and I enjoyed many trips with them.

I am really sorry to not know earlier of his death. I want the family know of my sense of loss and extend my sympathies to them.

.I workef as his assistant at LOMA for 25 years.

  4. Rosa Best says:

He was a great leader. A true gentleman.

  5. Bill Rabel says:

My condolences to the Merritt family. I worked with Lynn from 1978 until he retired. He took over responsibility for LOMA at a time when it was floundering and it truly can be said that he saved the organization. He and Beverly had many friends and admirers in the industry and they both were dedicated to LOMA and its mission.

  6. Jim Dockter says:

Just heard of Lynn’s death from Bill Rabel, who worked for him in NY and Atlanta, and he was Senior VP of Education for LOMA.
Becky and I had a great relationship with them for years, and then no communication.
We ran LOMA’s Insurance Education Fulfillment Center for years. Initially in Columbus, OH, then Alpharetta, GA.
If someone can share what happened to Lynn and Beverly, please let me know.
Can a donation be made in their memory?
We both had a love for dogs. Golden Retrievers for us, and Poodles for them.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to extended family and friends of Lynn and Beverly.
    Jim Dockter

  7. Lois M. Cady says:

Beverly, Lynn and I go back to !956 when Lynn and I worked at Decatur/Macon Couny Hospital and lived just two doors from one another. They were/are the kind of friends who remained friends forever. I visited them several times in Atlanta and the last time at their home in Vero Beach. They visited me in Colorado and St. Louis. One time Lynn and I ran into each other at theWorld’s Fair in New Orleans. If Richard or Peter are reading these messages, I would like to hear about their mother, Beverly. If she is able and willing to communicate, I would appreciate a contact number for her. My name is Lois Cady, 303-771-4728, cadyloism@aol.com.

  9. Sue (Foley) Lane says:

My heart is broken as I just realized that Lynn has passed. My love for Lynn and Beverly was bonded when I first met them in 1982 the year I married James Foley (Jim) who worked for Lynn 36 years. We celebrated, we laughed, we traveled, and we cried. After Jim died in 2008, I stayed in touch for some time. I’m sorry that I didn’t reach out when they may have needed me the most. Rest In Peace my dear friend. My love to Beverly, Ricard, and Peter and their families. I loved your parents so much. They were such a big part of my life. I’m still in St Augustine Fl and still have family in Georgia.
