Doris Jean Pattillo, 83, passed away August 6, 2019 at Emory University Hospital. She was the widow of John Henry Hardy Jr. of Valley Head, Alabama. She then met and married Charles Alvin Pattillo of Rex, Georgia.

Born in Collinsville, Alabama on February 26, 1936, she was the daughter of Sidney Small and Roberta (Gregory) Small. She attended Collinsville High School and after graduating she attended Alabama State University and received a bachelors degree in microbiology. She was employed at Center for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia and retired after 34 years.

She was a member of Blacks In Government. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing and going to the casino. She will be remembered for her quick wit, beautiful smile, charisma, fashion sense, brutal but loving honesty, and being a strong, smart, and loving woman.

She is survived by her sisters Carolyn Congress, Linda Richardson and Sheila Washington; daughters Angela Hardy, Jacqueline Hardy, and Lisa Chahine; step children Terry Pattillo, Tanya Pattillo Casteal, Shawn Pattillo; grandchildren Migyel Hardy, Marcus Reese, DeAngelo Hardy, and Alfred Chahine; and great grandchildren Alana Hardy, Amari Hardy, Tayvion Hardy, and Jaxon Wheeling. She was loved by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Sidney Small and Roberta (Gregory) Small, her widowing husband John Henry Hardy Jr., husband Charles Alvin Pattillo, brother Harold Small, and sister Mary Frances Small.

In loving memory, the Celebration Of Life service will be held at her home on Saturday August 10, 2019 at 150 Kimberly Creek Place Atlanta, GA. 30349 at 2:00 pm.
