Delores Randles Hutchinson
Delores (Dee) Hutchinson of Woodstock, in Cherokee County, Georgia passed away on January 5, 2024, at the age of 91. Dee was born in Columbus, Ohio, on September 18, 1932, the only child of George M. and Mary Jones Randles. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. degree in Psychology from Western College for Women, in Oxford, Ohio, in June of 1954. She scored in the top percentile on the national graduate psychology test and was encouraged to pursue her master’s degree.
Dee married Jack T. Hutchinson on August 21, 1954, and they were married 57 years. He was an attorney with Prudential Insurance Company’s Real Estate Investment office. They lived in Cincinnati during their early married years and had three daughters Melissa, Carol, and Elizabeth (Liz). In Cincinnati, while the girls were all in school, Dee worked part-time as the Financial Administrator for College Hill Presbyterian Church. The family moved in March of 1971, when Jack was transferred to Atlanta. In Atlanta, she worked as part-time Financial Administrator at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church and later as Office Manager with Avtax Property Tax Service Company.
She was an active member of Roswell Presbyterian Church. Her hobbies included bridge, watercolor painting, reading, puzzles, cooking, and travel.
Dee claimed her greatest accomplishment was raising three beautiful daughters to be intelligent, capable, and talented women who in turn raised their children to be loving, caring, and accomplished adults. They and their families are her finest legacy, and she was grateful for their love and support.
She is survived by her beloved daughters, Melissa Hutchinson, Carol (Ron) Johnson, and Liz (Tom) Moran and her cherished grandchildren, Andy Turner, Christin Norman (Will), Jenny Johnson, Wes Moran (Beth Ann), Mike Moran, and Sarah Moran. Her adored great grandchildren are Jack and Remy Norman and Hutch, Birdie, and Eloise Moran. Her nieces are Elaine Skrypiec and Mary Esteve, and her nephew is Tom Hutchinson. She is predeceased by her husband Jack T. Hutchinson and her grandson Josh Turner.
Dee was lovingly cared for in her final year by Carmen Malone who became her best friend during this time. Dee was blessed to have wonderful night caregivers Mary Mwangi and Mary Edorhe.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Historic Sanctuary of Roswell Presbyterian Church at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 14, 2024. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the Roswell Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
