Daniel Howard Herring Sr., 59, of Dallas, GA died at Kennestone Hospital on Thurs May 24. Born on January 22, 1953 in Cleveland, OH, he was the son of Mary & Howard Herring. Brother to Rhonda Thompson, David Frierson and Debbie Brooks. Husband to Sherry. Father to Dan. Grandfather to Siarra, Alannah & Seth. Veteran of the US Army. 30 year resident of Metro Atlanta, 26 year employee of Motion Industries. The best Father, Husband, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and Friend ever. Renowned for his generosity, love of animals and his sense of humor. A true ‘self-made man’ that proudly achieved the American Dream. We love you Dad. A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, June 10 at the Brown Conference Center www.brownconferencecenter.com in Cartersville from 12 to 6pm- note: casual dress preferred.

I’m in shock. I was friends with Danny in Cleveland. We entered the Army together and went through basic training and went to Fort Rucker . I hadn’t talked or seen Danny for 40 years until April when we talked on the phone for 2hrs catching up. I tried to email him this week to say I was coming through Georgia this July. You’ll be missed brother, God Speed.
