Charles E Heery, 90, of Decatur, Georgia passed away December 6, 2016. Born in Clayton County, Georgia and raised in the Inman Park neighborhood of Atlanta. Attended Tech High and served in the Marines during World War II. Preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Rachel Whitlock Heery, son Bob and son-in-law Tim Austin. He is survived by son Chuck Pat Griffin and daughter Cynthia Heery Austin, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Over the years he enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing but mostly his interactions with relatives, friends, family and most recently his great grandchildren.
Per his wishes, no service is planned.
In honor of Charles in lieu of flowers and/or donations enjoy an afternoon outdoors with your family and friends.

Grandad will be greatly missed and was greatly loved. I remember growing up with him and doing many wonderful things with him as a child. I will fondly remember being able to spend his 90th birthday with him, when he was in great spirits, surrounded by all his family and friends. Love you Grandpa…say “Hello” to Grandmom and Dad for me!
I am so sorry for your loss. I was friends with his son Chuck growing up in Decatur and remember Mr. Heery as a nice man.
