Anne Warren Wood Armstrong

Anne Warren Wood Armstrong passed away peacefully and in the company of family on February 25th, 2025. A longtime resident of Dunwoody, GA, Anne was born and raised in Newport News, VA. She married William Armstrong Sr. in 1952 after attending the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota FL. An accomplished artist in watercolors and oils, she specialized in pastoral and landscape images. She was active in Beta Sigma Phi and was a founding member of Kingswood United Methodist Church. She was immensely proud of her children and grandchildren for their academic and athletic accomplishments.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Armstrong Sr., her parents, Warren Wood Sr. and Anne Estes Armstrong, brother Warren Wood Jr. and sister-in-law, Betty Wood, and sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Woolfe and Dolly Markham Barber and nephews, Greg Wood and Russell Woolfe.
She is survived by her children Robert Armstrong Sr., Kate Armstrong Lee (Steve), Charles A. Armstrong, and Lou Anne Cooper (Jeff) and daughter-in-law Leslie Armstrong, as well as grandchildren April Shay (Nick), Anne Marie Armstrong, Robert Armstrong Jr., Alison Schaber (Cole), Austin Armstrong (Haley), William Lee and Natalie Armstrong. Anne’s great grandchildren include Johanna, Wesley and Colin Shay, Owen Schaber, and Alexandria Armstrong. She is also survived by nephews Robert Woolfe, Randy Woolfe, Furman Wood, and William Wood and their families.
Anne will be remembered by friends and family at her memorial service on March 8, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Kingswood United Methodist Church, Dunwoody Ga. A reception in the narthex will follow the service.
