Wynelle Jeane Simpson

Jeane Simpson, 85, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away quietly, surrounded by her loving husband and family, on July 18, 2015, from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. She was a wonderful wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, amazing teacher, and dedicated life-long learner. She taught high school in Texas. After the family relocated to St. Louis, she worked nearly 20 years for the Regional Office of the Girl Scouts of America; then as a field coordinator and trainer for Welcome Wagon. Jeane lived to serve the young and was a devoted volunteer for more than 20 years at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. She was an ardent painter, gifted writer, and a truly marvelous friend.

Born Wynelle Jeane Francisco in Fort Worth, Texas, she was preceded in death by her father W.T., mother Eunice, sister Molly, and many others whose memories were held dear in her heart.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 67 years, Robert L. “Bob” Simpson, son Don, his wife Carol, and their children Craig wife, Alexis and Danielle Pool husband, Chris, son Terry, his wife Jean Hamilton, and their sons, Jesse and Tyler, cherished nieces Beth Engelhardt and Mary Phillips-Kalvitz. Beloved great-grandchildren include Kate and Aaron. Jeane loved parenthood because she believed that children make you humble, teach you the joy of unconditional Love, and help you laugh a lot. She survived Depression, war, hurricanes, disease, and learned that family was most important, and cherished friendship as a close runner-up.

She was a dedicated church member and volunteered countless hours at Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church, which is hosting a memorial service at 3pm, Saturday, July 25.
