OBITUARY
WILLIAM LEE ANDREW, JR
William Bill Lee Andrew, Jr., born on August 12, 1923 in Atlanta, GA, died Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at the age of 92 in Gwinnett Medical Center after a long illness. His family surrounding him with love and prayers.
He was the son of the late William Lee Andrew, Sr. and the late Mary Jane Bernet’ Andrew.
Bill married his childhood sweetheart the late Miriam Louise Wooster on December 19, 1943. They were married 52 wonderful years before her death on January 3, 1996.
He enlisted at the age of 17 in military service of the Navy from June 1941 to August 1946, and served aboard the USS Savannah Light Cruiser, USS YMS-61 Mine Sweeper and USS Shea Mine Layer.
He was employed as an automobile mechanic for Boomershine Pontiac in Atlanta, GA and retired after 43 years. He was the “family mechanic” to his loved ones and friends for many years.
Bill is survived by his daughters: Priscilla Louise Andrew Williams and her husband, Randolph Randy, of Monroe, GA, and Frances Renee Andrew Harris and her husband, Chester Rusty, of Conyers, GA; his son, William Jayson Andrew and his wife, Christy, of Dallas, GA; a son-in-law, Thomas Tom Williford, of Gainesville, GA; his youngest brother, David Andrew, of Cumming, GA; 8 grandchildren: Deanna Williams Brown, Jennifer Harris, Bradley Harris, Andrea Williford Mirsalimi, Renee Williford Thomasson, John Williford, Nicklaus Andrew and Zachary Andrew; 6 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Regina Lee Andrew Williford, and 6 siblings: Jack Andrew, Marie Andrew Hammock, Harry Andrew, Johnny Andrew, George Andrew, Betty Jane Andrew Powell.
He was blessed to meet later in his life Lucille Williford. She was his loving and caring companion, as was her family, for 19 years.
A Military Memorial Committal Service will be held in his honor at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA on Thursday, August 25, 2016, at 12:30 PM. Bill and Louise’s remains will be placed in the Columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital www.stjude.org, a favorite charity of his, and/or the Gideons International www2.gideons.org/donate?.

    Bill was a wonderful Man and we loved him very much. We always had such good times with my Mom and Bill, we also had lots of laughs and great memories with each other. He was always so good to me and David as well to our Grandkids and our kids. We love you Bill and will miss you.

    Uncle Bill was always very special to me and my family. We loved him and will always miss him. My prayers and love are with Lucy and his family. I know the “Wooster ” clan welcomed him, especially Uncle Buddy and all of the family. They are probably having a good old fashion singing right now.
