Dear deJanes Family, I am truly sorry for your loss. I pray that God’s peace will be with you. It was such a pleasure having had the opportunity to know and work with such a great man at Clark Atlanta University. He indeed will be missed.
it was an honour to have worked with Ben in the CAU Political Science department. He was an excellent colleague, a good department chair, and a thoroughly decent human being. I will miss him.
He was a kind man and great dissertation advisor. I just found out about this recently. I was really touched by his work with me through my doctoral studies program and his assistance with getting my academic career started. He was an amazing man and someone I truly looked up to as a great mentor and teacher.
I learned of Ben’s passing while walking through the Columbarium at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in April, 2019.
I am so sorry that I did not know earlier.
Ben and Janelle were members of my Sunday School Class years ago at the church.
We had lost touch over the years. I recall that there were two sons of whom he was so proud.
You had a very fine father. I recall his story of his travels through Russia to this day.
I am glad our paths crossed through the church.
May he rest in peace til we meet again.
Sincerely,
Mary and Dick Holmes
