John Edward Kauffman III
John Edward Kauffman lll (88) passed away on June 25th 2019. John was born to parents John Edward Kauffman Jr. and Beatrice Rhiver Kauffman on June 11, 1931 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of Enola High School in 1949. After attending Lebanon Valley College on a football scholarship, John enlisted in the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1955. John started his first job after serving in the Navy at Harrisburg Paper Company. He started out as a sales trainee and rose to be one of the most successful salesmen at the company, achieving the “Salesman of the Year” award several times in his career!
John was a loyal and faithful Penn State fan with season tickets and a lifelong member of the Nittany Lion Club. When he wasn’t watching Penn State football, John enjoyed playing golf and was a member at West Shore Country Club, later retiring to Pinehurst, North Carolina with his wife Loretta of 60 years. John was a member at Grace Church and both he and Loretta faithfully enjoyed serving in Guest Services where they led many people to Jesus Christ.
After Loretta passed, John moved to Alpharetta, Georgia and lived out his remaining years attending North Point Community Church. John is survived by his two sons Douglas of Camp Hill, PA, John and his wife Melinda of Alpharetta, GA and their daughter Caroline, daughter, Lisa of Carlisle, PA, and sister, Yvonne Hogan, of FL.
A small private memorial service is planned at Indiantown Gap later in the year.
My condolences to the family. May this scripture give you peace. Revelation 21:4, “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
