Jane Vinson Dorman, 71, of LaGrange, passed away March 8, 2018 at the West Georgia Hospice, LaGrange, Georgia.

Jane was born in Montgomery, Alabama on August 2, 1947, the daughter of Alpheus Alexander Dorman and Janice Elizabeth Dorman. She received her Bachelors Degree from Georgia State University and her Masters of Divinity from Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta. Jane served in the United States Navy as a photographer and received the National Defense Service Medal. Following her active service, she was a member of the National Guard Reserves.

Jane was ordained as Deacon in 1995 and served in that capacity at St. John’s Episcopal Church in College Park. From 1998 to the present, she served as Deacon at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in LaGrange. She was also a paraprofessional at Cannon Street Elementary School, LaGrange, and longtime member of the Board of Directors of the Chattahoochee Valley Episcopal Ministry.

She is survived by her sister, Lynda Dorman Lott of Norcross, Georgia; niece, Janice King Fisher(Darrell) and their children, Lauren Leigh McKenzie, William Dillon Morgan, and Charlene Lynda Morgan of Omaha, Nebraska; and nephew, Michael Vinson King(Meredith) and their children, Gracie Lynn King and Marcie Elaine King of Norcross, Georgia.

A Memorial Service for Jane will be held Monday, March 12 at 3:00 PM at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 207 North Greenwood St., LaGrange, Georgia 30240.
