Our loss of Jim is not only personal to Jim’s family and to me my family but Jim’s death is a loss to the many, many people throughout the Atlanta area and elsewhere. Jim was a great person and a grand personality who was generally smiling, kind, friendly, generous and outgoing to all people and dogs. He loved people and work and had been a contribution to Atlanta since the early 1970’s when He and Jane moved to Inman Park and undertook the massive task of restoring a large Victorian house on Druid Circle. That house remains today as an excellent example of good taste and fine workmanship. He then proceeded to rehabilitate apartment buildings in the neighborhood and made significant contribution to the quality of rental housing. Upon entering the restaurant business, he created several good eateries culminating with the Peachtree Hills landmark loved by persons and dogs alike as the Tree House. I am honored to have been able to call Jim my friend. He is sorely missed and will be for long to come.
My condolences to your family. God promises to fortify you and hold your hand during this difficult time Isaiah 41:10. Continue to rely on Him for comfort and strength.
My heart is simply broken. I didn’t get to Atlanta often however when we did we would always try to meet up with him. The world lost a great soul. I will miss his infectious laugh and business advice. RIP Corky. Say hello to my Dad for me!
My deep condolences to the family. A long time ago Corky and I played baseball on the high school team. I was a pitcher and he was the catcher. He was a fun guy to be around, a good player who was very positive and very competitive. We lost contact over the years, but I will always fondly remember him. As I ready about his accomplishments and remembrances I am not surprised. He was a great guy!
The world has lost a generous soul; always smiling, always ready to help a friend. Jethro has been waiting by those gates for a long time. Now he can jump in the truck once again and ride with Jim. God bless you Jim.
