Born in: Minneapolis, MN
Resided in: Dawsonville, GA

Everett James McCubrey, Jr., of Dawsonville, GA, was released from his earthly limitations on November 29, 2017, joining the love of his life and wife of 60 years, Donna, who preceded him in 2013.

Ev, the son of Everett, Sr. and Palma, was born and raised in Minneapolis, MN. Affectionately known as “Moose” to his high school and college football teammates, he graduated from Macalester College before serving in the U.S. Navy as a Supply Corps officer. Returning to Minneapolis several years later, he was known for his drive and flair as a marketing manager for IBM. Always the consummate gentleman and respected professional, his career of almost 40 years saw he and his family relocate across the country many times. Even in his later years, his positive attitude made every transition not just a learning experience, but a memorable adventure for his family, friends and new acquaintances.

Ev’s personal life was defined by dedication to his family. He was supremely proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. Fond of “lake living”, he thrived on providing smiles and fun for everyone around him.

Everett is survived by his three children, Derin White (husband Bruce) of Cumming, GA, Tripp (Everett III) McCubrey (wife Julie) of Marietta, GA and Creighton McCubrey (wife Lynda) of Conyers, GA, five grandchildren, Chett (Everett IV) McCubrey (wife Anna), Brenton White (wife Sarah), Claire Haga (husband Will), Allie McCubrey and Connor McCubrey, and one great-grandchild, Everett James McCubrey V. In addition, Ev is survived by his sisters, Elizabeth Sandell (husband Don), Lael Sanders (husband Bill) and his brother, William McCubrey.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Roswell Presbyterian Church, 755 Mimosa Blvd., Roswell, GA 30075 with a reception to follow in the Narthex.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the “2nd Mile for Mission”, an offering to support the mission partners of Roswell Presbyterian Church.
