Dubac Preece passed away on November 24th, 2018 at the age of eighty-six. He was born on June 19, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan, growing up in Bloomfield Hills. He graduated from Vero Beach High School in Florida. He is survived by his loving wife Sherwood.

Dubac graduated from Rollins College and joined the Davidson-Paxon executive training program, later opening the Lenox store as the assistant operations manager. After five years, he joined his brother Joe in Los Angeles, working for Preece Inc., which was involved in commercial hydraulics. He later joined Samuel Moore Company in Ohio and covered the southeast out of Houston, marketing their industrial thermoplastic hoses and tubing. In 1971, he was appointed sales manager of Samuel Moore Europe in Belgium, where he established distributors for products made at the Belgium plant. After four years of living in Brussels, he came back to the home office where he was named international sales manager and traveled worldwide, setting up distribution in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, and the Philippines.

Dubac also was named a director of Samuel Moore’s joint venture with Nitta-Moore in Osaka, Japan. He worked with the company to broaden their sales in Asia, including South Korea and Taiwan. After the purchase of Samuel Moore by Eaton Corporation in 1979, Dubac moved back to Atlanta and established his manufacturer representatives company, DuMar Co. He represented a product line from one division of Samuel Moore, later taking on the Preece Inc. line of marine hose and fittings sold to Navy shipyards from Maine to New Orleans.

Dubac was predeceased by his father Joseph Manley Preece, his mother Marion Smith Preece, his aunt Charlotte Amelia Smith, and his brother Joe “Bob” Preece. Dubac is survived by his daughter Nancy McAninch, her husband Ron, and their two daughters Corey and Kelly, and his daughter Cynthia Allen, her husband Keith, and their four daughters Lauren, Sarah, Heather, and Kendall. In 1999, Dubac’s wife Marjorie passed away after a marriage of thirty-eight years. Dubac and his wife Sherwood have had a wonderful life together and have enjoyed their warm relations with Sherwood’s six Cates stepdaughters, Jennifer Hull, Julie Dudley, Diana Parks, Holly Wynn, Amy Lance, Mindy Weston, and their husbands and children. Sherwood and Dubac have taken a number of cruises and many trips to Europe and South America during their wonderful marriage. Dubac was a member of Capitol City Club.

Cremation Society of Georgia will handle all arrangements. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
