Charles Clarence Germany of Sandy Springs, Georgia passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at the age of 93.

Chuck, as he was known to his family and friends, was born on January 6, 1927, in Louann, Arkansas. He grew up in Smackover, Arkansas with 2 sisters and one brother. He graduated from Hirsch High School in Chicago in 1945. He received a Bachelor’s Degree from Bethel College in Minnesota where he met his wife Carol Sees. They moved to Louisville, Kentucky where he received a Bachelor of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He moved to Lexington, Georgia to be the pastor of Lexington Baptist Church and Sardis Baptist Church in Rayle, Georgia. He later served as the Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church of Athens before moving once again to become the Pastor of First Baptist Church of Buford, Georgia. He moved to New Orleans, Louisiana where he later married Violet Farmer. After retirement from R. L Polk, Inc, he enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and needlepoint. He stitched Christmas stockings for many family members and friends. After Hurricane Katrina, he moved to Asheville, NC before moving to Atlanta, Georgia.

Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Anderson Germany and his mother, Lorene (Holt) Owens, sisters; Dorothy Inez Runyon, Betty Jo Crawford, his wives Carol (Sees) Marcus and Violet (Farmer) Germany. He is survived by his brother and sister in law, Eugene” Jimmy” and Edna Germany of Arnoldsville, GA; sons and daughters in law: Charles (Sandra) Germany of Sandy Springs, Georgia and Howard (Lee) Germany of Mechanicsville, VA; two grandsons, Samuel (Morgan) Germany of Lawrenceville, Georgia and Stephen Germany currently living in Switzerland; two great-grandchildren; Lillie and Benjamin Germany of Lawrenceville, as well as several nephews and nieces.

A memorial service will be held at One Heart Church in Norcross, GA, where Chuck attended church for the past eight years, on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at the church one hour before the service. A graveside service will be held at Clark Cemetery in Lexington, Georgia on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
